A dragnet cast throughout Southern California led to the arrest Thursday of a man suspected of killing the popular manager of a West Orangewood Avenue liquor store in front of customers and employees, police said.

Aaron Monghak Kim, 22, of Garden Grove was arrested in connection with the shooting death Tuesday of Michael Vance Brown, 33, of Fullerton, Police Lt. John L. Haradon said.

Investigators arrested Kim at 4 p.m. in a Monterey Park restaurant.

Police said they believe the shooting resulted from an argument between the two men at Orangewood Liquor.

“We think it, perhaps, had something to do with a relative of the gunman who used to work with the victim,” Haradon said.

He declined to elaborate further, citing the ongoing investigation.

About nine customers and employees were in the market during the shooting.

Kim was booked into the Anaheim Police Department Temporary Detention Facility in lieu of $1 million bail. He will be arraigned Monday at the Fullerton courthouse.

Brown was married to the daughter of the store’s owners.
