Man Accused of Seeking Sex With Boy on Internet

A Massachusetts man has been indicted on federal charges of traveling across the country to have sex with a 13-year-old Long Beach boy he met on the Internet, it was disclosed Wednesday.

Kenneth Jay Seaman, 59, of Dover, Mass., was arrested Nov. 15 at Will Rogers Park in Long Beach, where he allegedly had arranged to meet the youth, known to him by his Internet nickname, Jason13.

In fact, Jason13 was Long Beach Det. Sgt. George Hiscox, a member of the Southern California Regional Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Team, a multi-agency child exploitation task force.

On Sept. 22, Hiscox logged on to an Internet site that he said adult men frequently use to meet minors for sexual encounters.

A short time later, he received a private electronic message from a man, subsequently identified as Seaman, asking for a photograph, according to an FBI affidavit.

In ensuing e-mail exchanges cited in the affidavit, Seaman asked Jason13 what he enjoyed doing.

“I like horseback riding best and roller-blading,” replied the undercover officer.

“I like biking, walking along [sic] beach, computer and most of all sex,” Seaman replied, according to the affidavit. “What kind of sex do you like?”

From that point on, the government said, Seaman talked repeatedly and graphically about having sex with Jason13 and in early November, he advised that he would be flying out from Boston to meet the youth. A meeting was arranged for Nov. 15 near a large tree in the middle of Will Rogers Park, where he was arrested.
