Times Mirror Elects Directors; Times Names Marketing Chief
Times Mirror Co. announced Thursday that Roger Goodan, Sherry L. Lansing and Dawn G. Lepore have been elected to the company’s board of directors.
Separately, Times Mirror-owned Los Angeles Times named Jaynie Miller Studenmund, a former Home Savings of America executive, as its senior vice president, chief marketing officer.
The board election increases the number of Times Mirror directors to 14 from 11.
Goodan, 53, is vice president marketing, Schlumberger Oilfield Services North America; Lansing, 54, is chairman and chief executive, Motion Picture Group, Paramount Pictures Corp., and Lepore, 43, is executive vice president and chief information officer, Charles Schwab & Co.

Willes, Times Mirror chairman, president and chief executive officer and publisher of The Times. “At a time when Times Mirror is focused on internal growth, these industry leaders bring outstanding track records and expertise in areas which are critical to our future success.”
Goodan, a 25-year veteran of Schlumberger, brings “strong international management experience,” a Times Mirror spokeswoman said. He is associated with the Chandler Trusts, which are affiliates of Times Mirror.
Lansing, the highest-ranking woman in the movie business, brings “a different perspective on consumer marketing,” the Times Mirror spokeswoman said.
Lepore brings expertise from leading Schwab’s moves into electronic commerce, and she directs the company’s worldwide use of information technology.
At The Times, new senior vice president Studenmund was also named general manager, sections. She will be responsible for a new division that integrates consumer and advertising marketing functions. She will also be responsible for the paper’s section general managers.
Studenmund, 44, most recently was executive vice president of Home Savings’ retail banking division.
