Theoren Fleury scored two goals Thursday night and the Calgary Flames handed the Tampa Bay Lightning their ninth consecutive loss, 4-1.

Derek Morris and Jarome Iginla also scored for the Flames, who have won two in a row.

Wendel Clark scored for the Lightning, who have been outscored, 48-13, during the losing streak.

Calgary took the lead 12:32 into the game when Jeff Shantz won a faceoff, sending the puck to Morris. The defenseman’s shot from the blue line was stopped, but goaltender Corey Schwab couldn’t contain the rebound and Fleury scored.

The Flames went ahead, 2-0, in the second period on a similar play, but this time Morris’ slap shot off a pass from Valeri Bure squeezed between Schwab’s pads.

Clark brought the Lightning within 2-1 with his 11th goal late in the second period, but goaltender Tyler Moss shut the door the rest of the way.

Iginla and Fleury clinched the Flame victory with goals in the third period.

The Lightning, beginning a three-game trip, was without both of its top goaltenders. Daren Puppa and Bill Ranford both suffered groin injuries during practice Thursday.

In their absence, Schwab made his second start of the season.
