2 Bodies Found in Storage Building

Authorities called to a Chatsworth business Monday morning found the bodies of two people in the rear of a storage facility.

Police declined to release details of the deaths or identify the victims, other than to say they were a woman of unknown age and a man who city fire officials said was in his 40s.

“We have no motive, no suspects and the cause of death is undetermined,” said LAPD spokesman Jason Lee. “We also are waiting for the coroner’s findings.”

Paramedics were summoned to the building at 9:05 a.m. by an anonymous caller, who directed them to the back of the business in the 9300 block of Oso Avenue near Prairie Street in Chatsworth, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

When rescue personnel made their way to the rear of the building, they found a man bleeding from the head and slumped over a bed, Humphrey said.

It was not known whether the man lived in the building or set up the bed to rest there, Humphrey said. The body of the woman was located later by police investigators.
