Save the Tea Ball
Dress up a tea ball with a teapot weight. It keeps the chain from falling into the cup and makes it easy to lift out after your tea is done steeping. This project uses plastic clay (available at art stores under the brand name Sculpy). It’s easy to work with, making this a project children will enjoy.
You will need:
1 package yellow plastic clay
1 package blue plastic clay
Glue gun
1 tea ball
* Form yellow plastic clay into teapot shape. To make the decorative polka dots, take tiny pieces of blue plastic clay, roll into balls and press into the teapot. For the handle, roll a long piece of blue plastic clay and press ends into the back side of the pot.
* Cure clay teapot in oven according to package directions.
* Using a glue gun, glue tea ball chain to the teapot handle.
* Fill a gift box with loose tea and place teapot weight and ball on top.
