An Air Force recruiter accused of sexual misconduct with a minor has been reassigned from his post while sheriff’s detectives investigate his alleged relations with two teenage girls, authorities said Wednesday.

One of the girls, who claimed to be having an intimate relationship with the recruiter, came forward with her story after learning that he was allegedly involved with another girl, said Lt. Daniel Castillo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Castillo said he believed both girls are minors.

Det. Nancy Olsen, of the sheriff’s juvenile investigations bureau, who is handling the case, was not available for comment late Wednesday.

The recruiter, assigned to the Air Force’s Soledad Canyon Road office, was relieved of his duties last week, said Sgt. Jim Duval, an Air Force spokesman in Los Angeles.

Duval declined to identify the recruiter or provide his rank or age, citing the ongoing investigation by civilian authorities. He said no charges have been filed in the case.

“The Air Force takes any allegations against a recruiter very seriously,” Duval said.
