Indiana won the NCAA men’s soccer championship on Sunday, beating Stanford, 3-1, for its fourth title overall and first in a decade.

Dema Kovalenko and Yuri Lavrinenko scored in the first 20 minutes and Indiana goalkeeper T.J. Hannig made only two saves in the second half, neither difficult.

The Hoosiers (23-2), denied in their bid to finish a perfect season at University of Richmond Stadium a year ago, also got a goal from Aleksey Korol in the final minute of the half to all but put away the Cardinal (18-5-2).

The Hoosiers were playing in their ninth championship game in 26 seasons.
