Small Quake Hits China Lake Area

A small quake rattled the China Lake area of northern San Bernardino and southern Inyo counties at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries or damage were reported.
The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.1, according to Egill Hauksson, a seismologist at Caltech in Pasadena. It was centered 22 miles northwest of Trona, a town near the border between the two counties, Hauksson said.
