ROUNDUP : Vancouver Can’t Sneak Anything Past Shtalenkov

Rookie defenseman Tom Poti scored early in the second period and Mikhail Shtalenkov made 24 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks, 3-0, Sunday night at Edmonton, Canada.

Pat Falloon and Kelly Buchberger also scored for the Oilers (15-16-3).

Poti’s goal ended a 0-for-35 power-play drought for the Oilers dating to Dec. 8.

Colorado 2, Calgary 1--Goaltender Craig Billington, subbing for injured Patrick Roy, made 30 saves as the Avalanche won at Calgary, Canada.

Adam Deadmarsh and Shean Donovan scored for the Avalanche, who won for just the second time in eight games and maintained a share of first place in the Northwest Division with the Edmonton Oilers.

Billington was playing because Roy sprained a knee Saturday night in a loss to Dallas.
