Los Amigos 56, El Modena 39--Alvaro Arcos led all scorers with 22 points, including three three-pointers, for Los Amigos (7-5).

Los Angeles Loyola 47, Cypress 46--Cypress battled back from a 12-point deficit at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but ended up one point short. Alfonso Stovall scored 21 points for Cypress.

In the Brea Olinda Christmas tournament:

Brea Olinda 76, West Covina 49--Kyle Dodd and Rick Boehm each scored 12 points to lead the Wildcats. Jerett Skrifvars had seven points and 11 rebounds and Dodd had nine assists.

In the Las Vegas Prep Championships:

Tustin 56, Las Vegas Western 46--Ken Crabb had seven three-pointers and a game-high 25 points for the Tillers (11-2). Five of his three-pointers came in the second half.

Peter Johnston had 13 points and nine rebounds and Kevin Roberts had two points and eight assists for Tustin, which beat Vallejo Hogan, 60-39, in the first round earlier Monday.

In the San Diego Nike Invitational:

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 70, New York Jackson 58--Mike Stowell scored 15 points and Nathan Hair 14 for Capistrano Valley (10-1).

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian 75, Ocean View 69--Tony Dow scored 27 points, including five three-pointers, to lead Ocean View (7-3), but the Seahawks were outscored, 23-17, in the fourth quarter. Nick Huge scored 29 for Charlotte Christian (10-0).

In the San Diego Mt. Carmel tournament:

Los Alamitos 85, Escondido 62--Jeff Grgas scored 13 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter as Los Alamitos outscored Escondido, 32-9. Grgas, who scored 20 points in the second half, also had 11 rebounds and four blocks for the Griffins (7-4).

University 82, San Diego El Capitan 75--University’s Chet Johnson scored eight points, including four on consecutive dunks, during a 22-4 third-quarter run that gave the Trojans a 54-40 lead in the first-round game. Larry Brown also scored eight points during the run for University (7-3).

Johnson had 27 points and 10 rebounds, Andy Lawrence scored 18 points and Brown had 15 for University.

In the St. Cloud (Fla.) tournament:

La Quinta 76, South Lake 40--Ben Fredrickson had 19 points and 15 rebounds and Nam Troung had two points and 11 assists for the Aztecs (7-4).
