McClintock Proposal
Re “Mass Transit Without the Masses,” Jan. 18.
I imagine most readers of The Times got the same hearty laugh I did reading Assembly member Tom McClintock’s column prescribing completion of the unfinished master plan for freeways as the solution to our transportation woes.
Except for those readers whose homes or neighborhoods happen to be in the path of the various proposed routes McClintock extolled.
The whole exercise can be a new game: Readers can obtain a copy of the master plan map from 1958 by calling Caltrans at (213) 897-3656 and see if they can look forward to a destructive swath going through their area if McClintock has his way.
What fun!
