Eight people were injured, one seriously, in a two-car crash Sunday on Parthenia Street, authorities said.

The driver of one of the cars, Jason Lee, 20, of North Hills, was in serious condition Sunday night at Providence Holy Cross Hospital. He suffered internal injuries, police said.

Seven others--three from one vehicle and four from another--were treated for minor injuries at area hospitals and released, police said. Officer Gilbert Ramos, an LAPD spokesman, said the accident occurred at 10:03 a.m. Sunday, when Lee apparently lost control of a 1990 Toyota Corolla station wagon. The car jumped a center divider in the 16300 block of Parthenia Street and collided with an 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue driven by Peter Cullen, 33, of Northridge, Ramos said.

Police said Lee was driving with five passengers, ranging in age from 13 to 18. One of Lee’s passengers did not require hospital treatment.

Cullen, his wife and their 3-year-old daughter were among those treated at hospitals and released, police said.

The accident remained under investigation late Sunday.
