Here are a few places where kids can celebrate Cupid’s favorite holiday.

* Pages Books (18399 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, [818] 34-BOOKS). The bookshop for children and young adults starts celebrating early with a Valentine craft time Saturday at 11 a.m., where participants can create cards, picture frames or keepsake boxes for a special someone. Different materials and media for drawing and collages will be available. $5 materials fee. On Feb. 14, the shop hosts “You Gotta Have Heart,” a free Valentine’s Day story time at 11 a.m. An optional Valentine craft activity will follow. $3.

* Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market (200 Block of North Canon Drive, [310] 285-1048). This Sunday, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., the weekly market will feature a holiday crafts corner for kids with card-making activities, a heart-shaped note-pad-making project and more. Each project is 50 cents.

* Zany Brainy (Northgate Center, 111 S. Westlake Blvd., Suite 101, Thousand Oaks, [805] 449-4277; and 3842 Sepulveda Blvd., Torrance, [310] 791-6200). Children ages 8 and up can stitch a heart-shaped key chain for someone special today at 7 p.m. at both stores. Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m., children ages 3 and up can make Valentine cards and enter to win a giant “Guess How Much I Love You?” bunny from Candlewick Press. Next Thursday, at 7 p.m., kids can make a Valentine bead surprise. All activities free.

* The Los Angeles Childrens Museum (310 N. Main St., [213] 687-8800). The museum will have extended hours Feb. 13, 1-5 p.m., and Feb. 14, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. when kids can make Valentine’s Day cards in the Recycle Art studio. Museum admission: children 2 and older and adults, $5.

* Children’s Book World (10580 1/2 W. Pico Blvd., [310] 559-2665). Kids can listen to Valentine-themed stories read by veteran storyteller Hope Smith on Feb. 14., at 10:30 a.m. For ages 3-8. Free.

* Mrs. Nelson’s Toy & Book Shop (1030 Bonita Ave., La Verne, [909] 599-4558). Kids can make Valentine treats in Mrs. Nelson’s Kitchen Feb. 13, 4-5 p.m., in a no-cooking treats class. Goodies will be wrapped for children to give as a gift. Ages 5-10. $10. Preregistration required. On Feb. 14, at 11 a.m., Jenny Wilkie will present Valentine’s Day stories and a sweetheart craft. All ages. Free.

* Storyopolis (116 N. Robertson Blvd., [310] 358-2512). See Best Bets for Storyopolis’ Valentine pop-up extravaganza this weekend. The fun continues Feb. 14, at 11:30 a.m. with a Valentine’s Day craft and story hour that includes a sweet treat from the nearby Newsroom Cafe. $6.50. Reservations required.

* Kidspace Museum (390 S. El Molino Ave., Pasadena, [626] 449-9144). Next weekend, Feb. 14-15 at 2 and 3 p.m., Kidspace Museum hosts a “Happy Valentine’s Day Armenia” celebration. Kids ages 5 and older can make valentines, sample Armenian cuisine and craft traditional toys. While you’re there, don’t miss the museum’s “Playing Together: Games” exhibit, which continues through February. Visitors can learn about games of strategy, luck, physical coordination and skill from around the world. The exhibit also includes the House of Cards, a games library with more than 50 popular contemporary board games for visitors to play in the gallery. Admission: $2.50-$5.
