In the Pacific Coast League:

Costa Mesa 5, Laguna Hills 4--Amy Devey scored four goals and Jan Grubisich scored one as Costa Mesa, which led, 5-2, midway through the fourth quarter, improved to 6-11 and 2-2 in league. Cari Howse’s steal with five seconds left capped the victory for Costa Mesa. Howse had 11 steals in the game.

University 9, Aliso Niguel 2--Erin Hayes led visiting University (13-6, 4-0) with six goals, and Amy Hilts made 10 saves to shut down Aliso Niguel, which until Wednesday, was unbeaten in league.

In the South Coast League:

Mater Dei 6, Trabuco Hills 5--Erin Kelly scored three goals as Mater Dei held off a late comeback by Trabuco Hills (8-10, 1-3). Goalie Julia Kelly had 11 saves for the Monarchs (13-5, 2-2).

In the Sunset League:

No. 1 Marina 12, No. 9 Esperanza 3--Rebecca Miller had four goals and two assists to lead Marina (16-4, 4-0) to its second league title. Jenny Lamb added three goals and six steals.
