Four people suffered minor injuries Thursday when a bullet punched through the window of an Orange County Transportation Authority bus just a few miles from Disneyland.

Bloodied by flying glass in the apparently random attack were Isiah Barrett, 36, his wife Vesna, 29, and their daughters Maria, 2, and Naomi, 8.

The Barretts were sitting in the second and third rows of the bus when the bullet hit, apparently fired from a passing car.

Hours later, two boys, ages 14 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and reckless discharge of a firearm, Anaheim police said. Officers responding to an unrelated call in the area of the shooting arrested the pair after coming across information that made them suspect the teens.

Isiah Barrett, a small shard of glass still jutting from his cheek as he stood outside an Anaheim hospital awaiting treatment, said he hopes to move his family out of California.

“This is really indicative of the day and time we live in,” said the Fullerton resident, a former Marine who served a stint in Lebanon. “I think we live in a dangerous time. It’s not safe to be riding a bus.”

The bus was bound for the Mall of Orange, with passengers carrying children, backpacks and folding shopping carts.
