The Vancouver Canucks acquired center Peter Zezel from the New Jersey Devils and sent forward Mike Sillinger to Philadelphia in separate deals on Thursday.

In exchange for Zezel, who has spent most of this season with New Jersey’s American Hockey League team in Albany, where he had 13 goals and 37 assists in 35 games, the Canucks sent the Devils a fifth-round pick in the 1998 draft.

In return for Sillinger, who had 10 goals and nine assists in 48 games, the Canucks received a conditional sixth-round draft choice in this summer’s draft.

Zezel, a 13-year NHL veteran, had his best season in 1986-87, scoring 33 goals and collecting 72 points for the Flyers.
