In another Sunset League game:

Los Alamitos 4, Huntington Beach 1--Justin Waldrop scored two goals for Los Alamitos, which tied the Oilers (5-4-1 in league) for third place.

A shootout was held to determine the final playoff spot. Tim Barnett scored on the sixth kick to give Los Alamitos (15-6-2, 5-4-1) a 5-4 lead. Christian Materazzi then made the decisive save and the Griffins reached the playoffs for the first time since 1993.

In the Academy League:

Fairmont 4, Southern California Christian 0--Richard Agnew scored two goals for visiting Fairmont, which advanced to the boys’ soccer playoffs for the first time. The Huskies are 7-5, 7-3.

In the Century League:

Orange 1, Canyon 1--Andrew May scored with eight minutes left in the game to tie the score and clinch second place for the Panthers (11-7-2, 5-3-2).

In the Empire League:

Century 1, Kennedy 0--Junior forward Peter Espinoza tied a school record with his 18th goal this season, scoring the game-winner in the 70th minute for Century (8-11-2, 5-4-1), which finished second in league.

In the Sea View League:

No. 4 Woodbridge 2, No. 3 Santa Margarita 0--Mark Oehlman and Saul Wolf scored for Woodbridge, which earned a share of the league title with the Eagles (15-4-3, 7-3). Doug Allen, who has given up only nine goals all season, had eight saves for the Warriors (16-2-6, 6-2-2).

El Toro 2, Corona del Mar 1--Julian Gaitan scored twice and goalkeeper Josh Saunders had six saves for El Toro (9-10-2, 5-3-2), which tied Newport Harbor for third but got the final playoff spot because of two victories over the Sailors.

In the South Coast League:

No. 8 San Clemente 1, Mater Dei 0--Kevin Jordan scored off a throw-in by Beau Schuster midway through the second half for San Clemente (16-3-5, 8-1-1), which won a share of the title with Capistrano Valley.

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 1, Mission Viejo 0--Josh Phalen scored on an assist by Phil Latini 30 minutes into the game for Capistrano Valley. Goalkeeper Jon Tarnow had three saves for the Cougars (22-3-2, 8-1-1).
