ASK TEAM USA TO PLACE A BET FOR YOU; THEY HAVE TIME NOW

Russia advanced to the semifinals in men’s hockey with a 4-1 victory over Belarus at about the same time that the U.S. was being eliminated by the Czech Republic in an upset.

Said Russian defenseman Alexei Gusarov: “At any competition there’s going to be surprises, and I think the first surprise of this tournament is that Team USA is going home.”

Forward Sergei Fedorov was asked if he could he have bet on a Czech win.

“I don’t bet. I’ve never been in Las Vegas,” he said.
