Rapper Sentenced on Probation Violation

Rapper Stanley Howse was sentenced Thursday to four months in County Jail for violating probation for domestic violence convictions by beating up a Chatsworth neighbor who had complained about loud music.

But Municipal Judge John C. Gunn allowed Howse to remain free until next month so he can finish recording a new album, according to the rapper’s lawyer.

The district attorney’s office initially agreed to probation on the felony charges that Howse and his brother-in-law beat, kicked and spit upon 64-year-old Stephen Gambino on June 25 and had possession of illegal fireworks on the Fourth of July. Howse, also known by his rap name Flesh-N-Blood, pleaded no contest to the charges Feb. 6 and was sentenced to three years’ probation.

But Deputy City Atty. Jose Egurbide asked Gunn on Thursday to jail Howse for time he did not serve for five previous misdemeanor convictions stemming from charges that he beat up his ex-girlfriend.

Howse is a member of the Grammy-winning band Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
