Share

The San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural Assn. will celebrate the Chinese New Year with a banquet Saturday marking the Year of the Tiger.

The event, to be held at the Universal City Hilton, will feature the Chinese Lion Dance and an artistic Flower Drum Dance performed by children from the cultural association’s Chinese School. There will also be an eight-course feast, karaoke and ballroom dancing.

Cultural association members are now involved in a campaign to raise funds to build a Chinese Heritage Center in Northridge, which will serve as a meeting place for members. In addition to the Chinese School, the association’s activities include a seniors’ club, drama club, Chinese music ensemble and ballroom dance club.
