Five Electric Bikes Donated to City
The city’s Police Department recently received five new electric bicycles from an anonymous donor.
The EV Warrior bicycles were bought by an anonymous person when the Burbank-based manufacturing company went bankrupt. The individual then donated the 237 bicycles to community organizations throughout Orange County.
The five electric bicycles have been integrated in the Brea’s bike unit, headed by Lt. Dave Carlock.
According to Carlock, the six-speed, 80-pound cycles can be pedaled or run solely on electric power. They can travel about 25 miles on one charge and recharge in three to five hours.
