Man Accused of Killing Girl Pleads Not Guilty
The man accused in the shooting death of 6-year-old Karina Gomez in East Hollywood pleaded not guilty Monday to one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Carlos Rosales, 21, fired an errant shot at a man with whom he had argued on Dec. 30, authorities said. The bullet struck the child, who was sitting in the back seat of her uncle’s car at Vermont and Melrose avenues.
A preliminary hearing for Rosales is scheduled Jan. 15. He is being held in lieu of $1.55 million bail.
