Regarding the debate over what to call AK-47s: Rather than a label based on what the intentions of the user might be (“assault rifle” or “sporting rifle”), how about a functional label? If it carries a lot of rounds like a machine gun, shoots rapidly like a machine gun and massacres like a machine gun, then it is a machine gun.
