Overpass Closed for Change to Underpass
The Anaheim Boulevard-Haster Street overpass will be closed to through traffic for 14 months, beginning today for re-engineering as part of the Santa Ana Freeway widening project.
The overpass will be reconfigured as an underpass, which will improve traffic flow on surface streets and the freeway, Caltrans officials said.
The alternate route for motorists northbound on Haster will be right on Katella Avenue, left on State College Boulevard and left on Cerritos Avenue to Anaheim Boulevard.
For drivers southbound on Anaheim Boulevard, the route will be left on Cerritos, right on State College and right on Katella to Haster.
Demolition of the overpass will begin Sunday as part of the $1.1-billion project to improve the freeway through northern Orange County.
