* Stars, 5 p.m. Sunday: GM Bob Gainey told the Dallas Morning News that he didn’t expect forward Tony Hrkac, 31, to be claimed on waivers. Hrkac, a standout at North Dakota who never had much success in the NHL until lately, was picked up by Edmonton. Hrkac had five goals and three assists in 13 games with Dallas.

* Avalanche, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday: After Calgary beat Colorado to win the season series, 3-1-1, Avalanche Coach Mark Crawford had a hard time defining the problem for the Rocky Mountain News. “We had about five guys who even showed any inkling they wanted to be here tonight,” Crawford said last Tuesday. “I don’t know what an inkling is, but I didn’t see very many of them.”
