Man Asks About Job, Robs Hallmark Store
Ventura police were looking Thursday for a man suspected of robbing a stationery store the night before.
The man walked into Connie’s Hallmark on Telephone Road about 9 p.m. Wednesday and asked two saleswomen if the store was hiring, a police spokesman said.
The saleswomen told the man to return the next day, but he instead demanded cash from the register, the spokesman said. One of the women tried to escape, but the man caught her and wrestled her to the floor, police said.
The man grabbed an undetermined amount of cash and ran from the store, the spokesman said.
Neither woman was injured.
