No. 5 Arizona Rolls Past Arizona State, 127-99

After a while, Arizona’s annual slaughter of Arizona State in Tucson turned into a list of superlatives.

The fifth-ranked Wildcats set a Pacific 10 Conference record for points in a game and ran up the most points ever on the Sun Devils with a 127-99 rout Thursday night.

Mike Bibby scored 23 points, Miles Simon had 22, Michael Dickerson 20 and Jason Terry 17 as the Wildcats won their seventh straight.

Arizona, averaging 103.7 points in the streak, surpassed the conference record for points in a game shared by UCLA (1964 vs. Washington) and Arizona State (1988 vs. Washington).

Arizona also had a 46-26 edge in rebounding.

A.J. Bramlett scored 10 points in the first 5:17 of the second half, when Arizona, 14-3 overall and 5-0 in the Pac-10, broke away from a 63-44 halftime lead.

The Wildcats, who closed the first half with a 43-15 run, went on a 22-7 burst after halftime. Two baskets by Bramlett capped the surge at 85-51.

Arizona State (12-6, 2-3) got 27 points from Mike Batiste.

Washington 81, Oregon 71--Todd MacCulloch made 14 of 15 shots and scored 31 points for the Huskies at Eugene, Ore.

Washington (10-3, 3-1) outscored Oregon, 25-8, over the final 6:37.

The Ducks (6-8, 1-4) were led by Henry Madden with 25 points. Terik Brown added 22 and Jamar Curry 16.

Madden and Brown each made four three-point baskets.

Washington State 69, Oregon State 53--Blake Pengelly scored 16 points at Corvallis, Ore., to help Washington State win the battle to escape the Pac-10 cellar.

Washington State (8-7, 1-3) outscored the Beavers, 20-9, over an eight-minute stretch late in the second half. Chris Crosby, who scored 13 points, had seven during the run and Pengelly added five.

Oregon State (9-7, 0-5) shot only 34% from the field, including two for 22 on three-point attempts.
