Romaniuk Scores Twice in Ice Dog Victory

Former Moose winger Russ Romaniuk tallied two goals as the Long Beach Ice Dogs defeated the Manitoba Moose, 3-2, Friday night and extended their home unbeaten streak to nine games.

Center Kevin Todd, making his second start this week after being assigned by the Mighty Ducks on Monday, contributed two assists to the victory.

Goalie Kay Whitmore stopped 32 of 34 shots to keep the Ice Dogs (28-14-6) second in the Southwest Division. The Moose (17-22-4) remained fifth in the Midwest Division.

“Kay played a fabulous game, making the big saves when he needed to,” Ice Dog Coach John Van Boxmeer said.
