It would be hard to single out any of Connecticut’s players as stars as the third-ranked Huskies routed Old Dominion, 93-72, before a sellout crowd of 16,294 at the Hartford Civic Center, handing the second-ranked Monarchs their first loss this season.

Svetlana Abrosimova scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Huskies waited until the last five minutes to break open what had otherwise been a close game.

Abrosimova led a balanced attack as the Huskies (17-1) overcame early struggles by Nykesha Sales, its leading scorer.

Rita Williams came up with a big steal and a three-point basket down the stretch as the Huskies handed the Monarchs (13-1) their most lopsided loss since Tennessee beat them, 69-47, in the 1995-96 season.
