The Ventura County chapter of the American Red Cross is offering classes in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and community safety at two locations next month.

The classes will be presented at the Red Cross’ offices in west county at 2355 Portola Road in Ventura, and in the eastern part of the county at 1919 Williams St., No. 200, in Simi Valley.

“It’s important that people learn to save their families’ lives and the lives of others,” said Carol Becker, the Red Cross’ workplace education director. “You never know when something is going to happen.”
