Guard James Robinson, who got off to the worst start of his career this season, has averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 assists, 1.4 rebounds and has shot 48.7% in his last seven games.

“I’m not surprised that I’m playing a lot,” Robinson said. “The next game I might not be playing at all. Whenever he calls me I’m going to be ready.”

Guard Brent Barry, who has sat out three games because of a heel injury, was fitted with a special shoe insert before Tuesday night’s loss at Houston.

Barry, however, doesn’t expect to play in tonight’s rematch against the San Antonio Spurs at the Sports Arena.

“I don’t have any idea what his pain threshold is,” Coach Bill Fitch said.

Center Stojko Vrankovic, who received five stitches in his upper lip after being elbowed by Rocket center Kevin Willis on Tuesday night, played only six minutes in the first quarter of Wednesday night’s loss at San Antonio before leaving because of flulike symptoms.

“He was sick,” Fitch said. “Why ride a dead horse?”
