Indians Pick Up Hudler

The Cleveland Indians signed veteran utility player Rex Hudler on Thursday, who was released by Philadelphia on June 24, and assigned him to triple-A Buffalo. Hudler is a .261 hitter in 13 seasons.

Mike Stanton’s five-game suspension was upheld by American League President Gene Budig, who rescinded a $1,000 fine he imposed on the Yankee reliever for starting a brawl with the Baltimore Orioles on June 15.
