Big Sur, Big Deal

We wish to congratulate Susan Spano, on her excellent article on Big Sur (“California Dreamin’ ,” June 7). Her ability to vividly describe its awesome beauty and to provide helpful travel information made us enthusiastic about visiting again this wondrous place.
One slight disappointment was the omission of one of Big Sur’s prime dining delights: Glen Oaks Restaurant, tel. (408) 667-2264, on California Highway 1, just north of Pfeiffer State Park. It has wonderful gourmet dinners and French provincial charm.

Wow, what fun for Spano to be able to stay at the “three most expensive” stopovers on the Big Sur coast at $295, $365 and $165 per night and toss in a $125 massage in the bargain. Welcome to California!
