Man, 21, Arrested in Kidnapping, Rape

A man accused of raping a woman at Oxnard Beach Park was in jail Monday awaiting arraignment, authorities said.
David Zuniga, 21, was being held at Ventura County Jail on suspicion of rape and kidnapping. Zuniga was arrested after California Highway Patrol officers alerted Oxnard police to the alleged crime early Monday morning.
Police say the 23-year-old victim was walking to work late Sunday night when she was pulled into a car near Gonzalez and Ventura roads. CHP officers noticed the parked car and found the woman being raped inside, Oxnard Police Det. Bruce Reed said.
Zuniga’s bail was set at $100,000 and he is to be arraigned Wednesday.
