Edison’s David Farris a Presidential Scholar
David M. Farris, a senior at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, has been named a 1998 Presidential Scholar.
Farris, of Santa Ana, is the only Orange County youth to receive the honor. Farris and 140 other high school students throughout the nation were feted in Washington last month for their outstanding accomplishments in academics.
The scholars were selected for broad academic achievement, as reflected on SAT and ACT scores, essays and school transcripts, and for leadership, character and commitment to high ideals, officials at the U.S. Department of Education said.
