Darryl Kile won at Coors Field for the first time this season, helping the Colorado Rockies end a five-game losing streak with an 11-2 rout of the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.

Kile (6-11) pitched six strong innings, giving up two runs and five hits. Both of the runs scored on double-play groundouts.

Ellis Burks had a two-run homer and Mike Lansing added a two-run double to highlight Colorado’s six-run outburst in the fourth inning. Vinny Castilla hit a two-run homer, his 26th, in the sixth.

Burks, Lansing, Castilla, Neifi Perez and Dante Bichette each had three hits for the Rockies, who finished with 19.

“Darryl pitched a great game, and we were able to hit for him finally,” Bichette said. “It was important to get him over the hump. You could tell he felt a sense of relief after the game.”

Kile, ending a personal eight-game losing streak that matched the worst of his career and the Colorado record set by Greg Harris in 1994, gave up back-to-back singles to lead off both the first and sixth innings. But he limited the damage, inducing Barry Bonds and Stan Javier to ground into the run-scoring double plays.

Kile, who came into the game with a 0-4 record in six starts at Coors Field this season, hadn’t won anywhere since May 10. He joined the Rockies as a free agent after going 19-7 for Houston last year.

Victimized by poor run support in most of his recent outings, Kile prospered when the Rockies scored six runs in the fourth inning against Shawn Estes (7-8), breaking a 1-1 tie.

The Rockies sent 10 batters to the plate in the inning, collecting six hits, three of them doubles. Lansing hit a two-run double to the gap in right-center, Kirt Manwaring doubled down the right-field line and, with two outs, Perez doubled to the left-field corner. Burks then hit his 14th homer.

The Rockies added four runs in the sixth against Jim Poole. Perez led off with his sixth homer. Burks tripled and scored on Bichette’s double. Castilla followed with a 418-foot homer to left, the 150th of his career.

A pregame downpour caused a 31-minute delay in the start of the game.
