Gennaro’s Home Run Gives Vigilantes Win
Brad Gennaro hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Vigilantes to their fourth consecutive victory, defeating Pacific, 6-5, Saturday night at Saddleback College in front of an announced crowd of 2,235.
It was the final game of the first half for the Vigilantes, who beat Pacific (12-32) for the seventh time this season.
Before the game, the Suns fired Manager Jim Derrington. John Wood, the former pitching coach, took over and saw his team take an 1-0 lead in the first inning.
The Vigilantes (24-21) regained the lead in the second with three runs, including RBI singles by Tracy Edmondson and Kendrick Davis.
The Suns tied the score in the third and took a 5-3 lead in the fourth, before the Vigilantes came back in the eighth on Gennaro’s home run.
