A Huntington Beach man was unhurt when a gunman took the receipts from his business in a bank parking lot Monday morning, police said.

The man was walking from his carwash to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 7900 block of Edinger Avenue when a red, gray and yellow minivan pulled up near him about 9:40 a.m., Police Lt. Gary Brooks said. A passenger in the vehicle spoke to the 47-year-old man, then got out and pointed a small chrome handgun at him, Brooks said.

He ordered the man to drop the bag he was carrying, which held cash and checks from his business, then took it and fled in the van, Brooks said. The van, believed to be a late 1980s Chevrolet Caravan, headed east on Aldrich Street, then north on Parkside Lane, police said.
