A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck 14 miles southwest of the Port Hueneme coastline Friday night, but caused no injuries or damage, officials said.

The quake hit at 10:36 p.m., said seismologist Lucy Jones of the U.S. Geological Survey.

The shaker was not an aftershock to the 1994 Northridge earthquake, officials said.

The last time Ventura County shook was June 17, when a 3.9 aftershock occurred two miles north of Chatsworth and was felt in nearby Simi Valley.
