SEASON AT A GLANCE: The riseball-throwing right-hander is closing out a stellar four-year career in style. Ball (12-1), whose only loss this season was a 5-1 setback to Mater Dei, has struck out 107 in 94 2/3 innings and has an 0.81 earned-run average. In four years, Ball is 45-9 with an 0.56 ERA and 468 strikeouts in 411 innings.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Ball, bound for Pacific on a scholarship, played impressively in two Southern Section Division I playoff victories last week. She had the winning hit--a two-run single in a 3-1 second-round victory over Thousand Oaks. Two days later, Ball pitched her first no-hitter of the season in a 4-0 victory over Highland, which entered the quarterfinal as the hottest-hitting team in the region. She walked two and faced two batters over the minimum.
