A former employee of business executive John Kenneth Kim is being sought in the millionaire entrepreneur’s Feb. 26 slaying, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

Detectives said that an arrest warrant has been issued for Sung Seo, 40, who is believed to be hiding in his native South Korea.

Kim, 60, an engineer with strong ties to the South Korean military, was found stabbed to death and run over in a parking structure at the Marina City Club. No motive for the homicide has been disclosed.

Investigators said a photograph taken at the club showed that Seo was there on the night of the killing.

Seo reportedly worked for Kim at Kim’s Supertek company in West Los Angeles. The firm manufactures electronic equipment, including radar units and radios that have been used by the South Korean army.

Kim’s white Rolls-Royce sedan, determined to be missing shortly after the killing, was found two days later in a parking structure at Los Angeles International Airport.

Detectives said Seo is believed to have fled to Asia to avoid arrest. No extradition proceedings have been initiated, officials said.

Kim’s family has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of his killer.
