A 15-year-old Oxnard boy was released from the hospital Tuesday after being shot a day earlier.
Oxnard police detectives are still investigating the shooting, which occurred Monday at 9:27 p.m. in the 5400 block of Cypress Road.
A blue Chevrolet Astro van with horizontal gray pinstripes pulled up alongside the victim, police said. The driver and passenger shouted gang slogans at the youth, then fired two shots with a small-caliber gun, wounding the victim in the upper shoulder, according to police.
Authorities said the assailants, described as in their teens and wearing dark clothing, fled north on Cypress Road toward Pleasant Valley Road.
The victim was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment Monday and was released Tuesday, said Oxnard Police Det. Trent Jewell.
