A 15-year-old Oxnard boy was released from the hospital Tuesday after being shot a day earlier.

Oxnard police detectives are still investigating the shooting, which occurred Monday at 9:27 p.m. in the 5400 block of Cypress Road.

A blue Chevrolet Astro van with horizontal gray pinstripes pulled up alongside the victim, police said. The driver and passenger shouted gang slogans at the youth, then fired two shots with a small-caliber gun, wounding the victim in the upper shoulder, according to police.
