Traffic on Victoria Curbed for 2 Nights
The northbound lanes of Victoria Avenue at the Ventura Freeway overpass will be closed overnight tonight beginning at 11 and reopening at 5 a.m. Friday, construction officials announced Wednesday.
The southbound lanes will be closed from midnight Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
The overnight closures come as construction crews begin the 18-month, $15.3-million redesign of the traffic-plagued interchange.
Construction crews are closing lanes over the next two nights to build a temporary bridge in the gap between the northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway.
The new bridge will be used to reroute freeway traffic as new permanent bridges are built over Victoria Avenue, which will be widened.
Drivers are being encouraged to use alternate routes during the overnight closures, which are being scheduled during the nighttime hours to minimize impact on daytime traffic.
