Crash Closes Road, Causes Power Outage

Share

A suspected drunk driver ran his car into a power pole early Thursday morning, closing a section of Pleasant Valley Road for much of the day and causing a minor power outage, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The 22-year-old driver, Scott Seaman of Port Hueneme, was not injured. CHP spokesman Dave Cockrill said Seaman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

About 20 houses lost power when Seaman’s car struck a Southern California Edison transmission pole at 3:35 a.m., but most power was restored within two hours.
