1,500 Participate in ‘Kids for Parks’

More than 1,500 Anaheim third-graders beautified city parks this year by planting flowers and painting over graffiti on picnic tables and trash cans.
The “Kids for Parks” program teaches the young students a sense of responsibility, environmental awareness and stewardship by adopting a park, usually one next to or near their school, program coordinator Suzy Tindall said.
This year children from 57 classrooms from the three school districts and private schools in the city participated.
