Lancaster Home Runs Help Beat Antelope Valley North

Matt Lopez and Eric Sundberg hit consecutive home runs Friday in Lancaster’s 14-0 victory over Antelope Valley North in a District 20 game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at Rosamond High.

Lopez’s two-run homer, part of a five-run rally in the fifth inning, gave Lancaster (5-2) a 13-0 lead. Lopez was three for three and drove in four runs.

Zack Dominguez had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in a run.

Left-hander Chris Eilers (5-2) struck out five and walked five while pitching a two-hitter.

Palmdale 9, Antelope Valley 7--Palmdale scored four runs in the fifth inning to overcome a 7-4 deficit in a District 20 game at Palmdale High.

Chris Niemeyer had two hits and drove in three runs for Palmdale (2-3). Niemeyer had a two-run single to give Palmdale an 8-7 lead.

Judd McDaniels hit a run-scoring single and a run-scoring double for Palmdale.

Steve Dunnuccio had a run-scoring single in the seventh for Palmdale.

Chris Testa (1-0) struck out six in four innings of relief and had two hits.

Mike Seward had two hits and drove in two runs for Antelope Valley (3-2).

Encino-Crespi 13, Burbank 3--Mike Jackson had a double, home and four RBIs for Encino-Crespi in a District 20 game at Burbank.

Jackson had a run-scoring double in the second and a three-run home run in the fifth to give Encino-Crespi (5-0) a 9-1 lead.

Jonathan Oller hit a two-run home run in the seventh for Encino-Crespi and Matt Wilson followed with a solo shot.

Marshall Plouffe (2-0) scattered eight hits for Encino-Crespi. He gave up two earned runs, struck out seven and walked two.
