THQ, Jakks Team for Wrestling Video Games
THQ Inc. has announced a joint venture with Jakks Pacific Inc. in which the two companies will have a 10-year exclusive license agreement to publish World Wrestling Federation electronic games.
THQ, a Calabasas-based interactive software developer, and Jakks Pacific, a toy marketer and distributor based in Malibu, said their joint venture, in which 50% will be owned by each company, signed an agreement with Titan Sports Inc. to publish the games. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The partnership, THQ/Jakks Pacific LLC, plans to publish at least two wrestling federation video games a year for 10 years, with the first slated to be released in late 1999. THQ will oversee product development and sales.
