Schwartz Wins Speedway Event

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 6,120 Saturday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Shawn McConnell of Brea finished second and John Aden of Apple Valley was third.
Charlie Venegas of San Bernardino won the eight-lap handicap main event. McConnell was second and Gary Ackroyd of Newport Beach was third.
