The city of Calabasas will hold a Fourth of July celebration on the campus of Calabasas High School.

In May, the Las Virgenes Unified School District set up restrictions to prevent damage to the high school campus. City officials agreed to limit attendance and ban alcohol and tobacco on the campus.

“This year is the city’s first attempt at putting something like this together,” said Greg Johnson, the city’s community service director.

Attendees may bring blankets and portable coolers but no chairs.

The festivities will begin at 7 p.m., with fireworks starting at 9 p.m. Admission is $3 and children under 2 get in free. Parking is $5 per vehicle. The high school is at 22855 Mulholland Highway.
